TFE Hotels has committed $100 million to refurbishing its first-generation Adina apartment hotels across Australia and Europe, alongside new openings in Brisbane, Hobart, Cambridge and Glasgow.
Sydney flagship reopens after refurbishment

Adina Darling Harbour has completed a multi-million-dollar refurbishment ahead of its 26th anniversary, with the 114-room hotel, designed by Bates Smart, gaining a new restaurant, Shoreline Kitchen, along with upgraded guest rooms and reworked public spaces connecting the lobby and pool areas to the harbour frontage. The property follows recent refurbishments at Adina Perth and Adina Town Hall, which reopened in February 2025.
TFE Hotels chief executive Antony Ritch said the investment reflected demand for apartment-style accommodation with full hotel services. “We’re working closely with our third-party hotel owners to elevate the guest experience by leaning into what makes Adina unique,” Ritch said. He added that the rollout of a new digital Guest Experience Platform across the portfolio would support a “more connected, design-led and guest-centric experience.”
European portfolio also under refurbishment
In Europe, Adina Frankfurt Neue Oper is midway through a 12-month refurbishment of its 134 apartments and public areas, using timber, stone and curated artwork from local and Australian artists. Adina Budapest has completed a nine-month refurbishment across 75 guest rooms in its main wing, introducing an earth-toned design scheme.
Further refurbishments are planned across Adina’s apartment-style properties in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Singapore. The program adds to a development pipeline that has recently delivered Hobson Cambridge by Adina and Wellington Glasgow by Adina, giving travel sellers a broader and increasingly refreshed footprint to sell across both leisure and corporate segments.
