Global Touring has announced the introduction of a COVID-19 vaccination policy which, from 27 October 2021, now requires all customers to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status in order to travel with Global Touring brands, which include youth travel provider Topdeck Travel and small group specialist Back-Roads Touring.
Customer research undertaken in July 2021 found that 89% of Topdeck Travel customers and 95% Back-Roads Touring customers are in full support of this new policy and the peace of mind it will bring.
Under the new policy, customers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel with both TopDeck Travel and Back-Roads Touring, unless they are exempt. Full COVID-19 vaccination status must be presented to the Trip Leader at the point of departure. The proof of status must include full name (as per passport) and the date of which the final vaccine was administered (which must be at least 14 days prior to your date of departure).
Travellers with a valid medical reason will be exempt, but must show official government documentation detailing the exemption and a negative PCR COVID-19 test result taken within three days prior to departure.
“We’ve listened to our customers and our new vaccination policy gives them what they have been looking for as well as the confidence to book,” said David Gendle, GM Global Sales. “They want to get back to having sociable and authentic travel experiences with us but want to do so safely. As a company, we feel this is the responsible thing to do for both our customers and our expert Trip Leader but also to show respect for the locals in the communities we visit”.
“As well as reassuring our customers and team members, our aim is that this policy will reassure travel agents too when searching for the right trip for their client. These new measures will likely ensure more bookings and less cancellations for them.”
