A travel agent’s Egypt famil became a proposal to remember when her partner got down on one knee during sunset high tea at Aswan’s Old Cataract Hotel, on Uniworld’s recent double-ship charter for Australian and New Zealand agents.
Julia Brunato, from the marketing team at MTA Travel on the Gold Coast, was travelling with her partner Rex on the Splendours of Egypt & the Nile itinerary when he proposed with a blue sapphire ring during the group’s stop at the Mandarin Oriental’s Old Cataract Hotel. All 140 agents on the famil cheered as the moment unfolded.
Uniworld marked the occasion with an engagement gift, sending the couple on a short flight to Abu Simbel to see the Temple of Nefertari, built by Ramesses II around 1300BC.
Jen Pagett, senior manager of key accounts for Uniworld, said the moment resonated with everyone on the charter. “Julia and Rex are such a beautiful couple and the crew and the team at Uniworld were thrilled to be part of such a special moment. You could feel the wrap of love from everyone, and something I know we will all remember,” Pagett said.
