More than 50 travel agents, inbound tour operators, OTAs and wholesalers recently took their taste buds on a cross-country wine trail with Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA).
From Margaret River to the Yarra Valley and everywhere in between, 11 of Australia’s leading wineries gathered at the Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale, Sydney, to share their insights into the remarkable experiences available beyond the cellar door and, of course, offer tastings of their diverse, award-winning wines.
UWEA Executive Officer, Kate Shilling, said, “This outstanding event exceeded all expectations, with industry members able to meet with the who’s who of Australia’s leading wine tourism collective, sample some of their finest wines and talk about the incredible experiences in each region.”

Industry members participated in some friendly competition on the night, gathering information about the wine regions and experiences to answer quiz questions and go in the running for a six pack of wine and UWEA merchandise.
“The event was a wonderful opportunity for our wineries to showcase their world-leading winery experiences to the tourism and travel industry,” Kate said.
“Visitors to these premium wineries have the opportunity to go beyond the cellar door for adventures that include everything from yoga in the vines and museum tours, to wine blending, masterclasses and garden-to-plate culinary experiences.”
