Unforgettable Croatia expands team as demand soars

Luxury small-ship cruise operator Unforgettable Croatia has strengthened its Australian presence with the appointment of Carmela Pascuzzi as a European Travel Specialist. Carmela joins Aurore Bertomeu in the Melbourne office, which opened last year in response to growing demand from Australian travellers.

The pair will work alongside Business Development Manager Sarah Whitty, who has represented Unforgettable Croatia locally for the past seven years through The Hotel Connection.

Carmela brings more than two decades of industry experience, having worked across a range of travel brands including Qantas Holidays, Ben Tours, Wedding Destinations, and Flight Centre. Passionate about European travel, she says she is excited to help more Australians discover the beauty of Croatia.

“I’m passionate about travel and love working with different cultures. Croatia is such a beautiful part of the world and very appealing to Australians. I’m delighted to join the Unforgettable Croatia team to help travellers experience the best of this region on a small ship cruise or bespoke land and cruise tour,” Carmela said.

Unforgettable Croatia co-founder Graham Carter welcomed Carmela to the team, noting the significance of the Australian market to the company’s global growth.

“Over the past two years, Australia has steadily grown to the point that one in five of our guests is from this market. With Australian bookings up 27 per cent and revenue up 39 per cent year-on-year, Carmela joins at a very exciting time. Alongside Aurore and Sarah, we are well positioned to meet growing demand and better support our travel agent partners,” he said.

Carmela started with Unforgettable Croatia on 23 April, just after the release of the company’s 2026 program. The new season features 144 guaranteed departures across eight itineraries and eight ships, including the newest addition to the fleet, the 36-guest MS Aretis.

With 95 per cent of 2025 cruises already sold out, Carmela will primarily focus on promoting 2026 sailings and Unforgettable Croatia’s cruise and land tour packages, which combine seven-night small-ship cruises with private land tours across Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro.

The Australian expansion follows the opening of a new Cape Town office earlier this year, bringing Unforgettable Travel Group’s global footprint to six offices, including Melbourne, New York, Athens, Split, and London.
