Villa Le Corail breathes new life into Nha Trang Bay

Located on Nha Trang Bay in Central Vietnam, Gran Meliá’s 5-star Villa Le Corail has made a solid commitment to marine conservation, establishing a coral propagation program to help restore nearby reefs.

In collaboration with Avatar, the sustainable tourism company founded by KDI Holdings, the resort is breathing new life into the bay’s coral ecosystem.

In 2024, with help from over 100 volunteers, they successfully attached 20,000 new fragments to the resort’s coral nursery, which is located right in front of the main beach, and staged 20 educational Coral Talks.

In 2025, the resort’s conservation plan will be accelerated with the launch of the ‘Ocean Learning Hub’, a state-of-the-art marine education centre which is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors in its first year. Villa Le Corail will also initiate its ’50 Million Coral Trees’ campaign, with an initial target to plant two million coral trees in 2025. Guests will also be able to contribute to the “Vietnam Coral Protection Fund” to help ensure the long-term future of this important ecosystem.

Also this year, a series of immersive experiences will be added to Villa Le Corail’s guest programs, including scuba diving, guided reef walks and sailing lessons. A new ‘Pearl Farm Project’ will allow guests to engage in pearl diving and jewellery making, and Coral Talks will continue at the Kid’s Club.

This is just a selection of the activities being undertaken by Villa Le Corail and Avatar, as they strive to create a brighter future for Nha Trang Bay, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – most notably SDG 14, ‘Life Below Water’.
