Vintage Rail Journeys extends Elvis Festival train package

Vintage Rail Journeys has added an extra day to its Elvis Festival Train package to the Parkes Elvis Festival, extending the itinerary to five days, running 7 to 11 January 2027, priced from $4,990 per person in a Heritage Twin or Single cabin.

Extended itinerary adds festival day and Sydney return

The all-inclusive journey departs Sydney on 7 January 2027, travelling through regional New South Wales to Parkes, with guests spending two full days immersed in the Parkes Elvis Festival, including reserved tickets to the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. The itinerary includes chef-prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner, all beverages, transfers to and from the festival, and an onboard cocktail party with live entertainment. The train travels by day and remains stationary overnight, with guests returning to Sydney on day five.

David Donald, managing director of rail and touring at Journey Beyond, said the journey combines the appeal of the festival with the nostalgic experience of vintage rail travel. “You can’t help but fall in love with the undeniable charm and nostalgia that envelops you on Vintage Rail Journeys,” Donald said.

Package adds capacity for peak festival demand

For agents selling regional New South Wales and niche music-event travel, the extended itinerary gives clients an additional day at one of the country’s largest Elvis-themed festivals, combined with an all-inclusive rail journey that removes the need for separate accommodation and festival logistics. Vintage Rail Journeys operates as part of Journey Beyond’s broader portfolio of 22 Australian and New Zealand tourism brands, including The Ghan, Indian Pacific and Outback Spirit.
