Virgin Australia named ATIA’s Domestic Airline Partner

Virgin Australia has been named the Australian Travel Industry Association’s new Domestic Airline Partner, backing ATIA’s advocacy and member events nationally, including a dedicated presence at both Beyond Borders and the NTIA Gala Dinner in October.

Airline creates dedicated lounge at Beyond Borders

At Beyond Borders on Friday, 9 October, Virgin Australia will create the Virgin Australia Lounge at the Melbourne Convention Centre, giving delegates a dedicated space to connect and recharge between sessions. The airline will also serve as Master of Ceremonies Sponsor for the NTIA Gala Dinner at the Palladium, Crown Melbourne, on Saturday, 10 October.

Darren McDermott, Virgin Australia’s general manager of sales, said the partnership reflects the airline’s ongoing relationship with the trade. “Our agency partners play an incredibly important role in helping us connect Australians and supporting the growth of our industry. Their expertise, advocacy and commitment to our collective customers are central to Virgin Australia’s ongoing success,” McDermott said.

ATIA says partnership strengthens industry engagement

Dean Long, ATIA chief executive, said Virgin Australia’s support strengthens ATIA’s ability to deliver both forward-looking and celebratory industry events. “Through its support of Beyond Borders and the NTIA, Virgin Australia is helping ATIA deliver two important moments for the industry: one focused on the conversations shaping travel’s future, and one focused on celebrating the professionalism, service and expertise of travel agents, tour operators and travel businesses across Australia,” Long said.

For ATIA members and the wider trade, the new partnership adds another major domestic carrier to the association’s event sponsorship base, reinforcing the scale of support behind this year’s industry weekend in Melbourne.
