W Maldives unveils new era of luxury

W Maldives has entered a new era of luxury, unveiling a complete transformation that redefines the island escape with contemporary design, immersive experiences, and world-class dining.

A reimagined retreat

Designed for the modern traveller, the resort’s redesign blends daring architecture with the Maldives’ natural beauty. From the moment guests arrive at the striking Arrival Jetty, the tone is set for an unforgettable stay. The Living Room, with its soaring ceilings and ocean views, welcomes guests into a vibrant social space.

The Miaja Design Group has reimagined all 77 villas, drawing inspiration from the region’s marine life and lush landscapes. Overwater villas reflect the patterns of whale sharks, while beach villas take cues from mangrove textures. New two-bedroom beach villas now feature exhilarating water slides, adding an element of playful luxury.

Elevated dining experiences

Each redesigned dining venue takes guests on a journey of global flavours, featuring:

  • FISH – a sustainable ocean-to-table fine dining experience set above the Indian Ocean
  • FIRE – a relaxed beachside smokehouse offering expertly grilled dishes
  • KITCHEN – an all-day dining venue serving hearty international favourites
  • SIP – an overwater Latin American-inspired bar with Nikkei cuisine and sunset views
  • WET Deck – a high-energy social hub with signature cocktails, live music, and a one-of-a-kind Splinterworks Vertex water slide

Throughout the year, W Maldives will host exclusive pop-ups with world-renowned chefs, further elevating its culinary scene.

Adventure and wellness redefined

For wellness enthusiasts, the resort’s AWAY Spa offers a modern twist on traditional spa experiences, with four overwater treatment rooms overlooking the ocean. The resort also introduces Rise & Energize, a year-round wellness program featuring dynamic fitness sessions and mindful practices.

W Maldives is home to an award-winning house reef, offering some of the best snorkelling and diving in the Maldives. Guests can also embark on private excursions to Gaathafushi, the resort’s private island, for a secluded castaway experience.

A commitment to sustainability

As part of its transformation, W Maldives is embracing eco-conscious design and sustainability initiatives, including one of the largest biogas plants in the Maldives and a self-sustaining fruit and vegetable garden. The resort aims to be fully self-sufficient by 2026, ensuring a positive impact on the environment and local community.

A new chapter in luxury

With its bold redesign and immersive experiences, W Maldives is setting a new standard for island escapes.

“The reimagined W Maldives embraces the deep cultural heritage of the Maldives, blending it with the resort’s modern design to create an immersive, elevated experience,” said Amila Handunwala, general manager of W Maldives.
