Wendy Wu Tours has expanded its Central Asia collection with the launch of a new fully inclusive itinerary through Kyrgyzstan, responding to growing demand from Australians seeking more immersive and lesser-known travel experiences.
The new 12-day Spirit of Kyrgyzstan tour showcases the country’s alpine landscapes, Silk Road history and nomadic culture, while offering a shorter itinerary for travellers with limited time.
Demand grows for immersive travel
The launch follows findings from Wendy Wu Tours’ The Journey Ahead report, which found 58 per cent of Australians now prefer slower, more immersive travel experiences over traditional sightseeing itineraries.
Wendy Wu Tours Head of Product Sonia Orrego said travellers were increasingly looking for meaningful experiences and destinations beyond the traditional tourist trail.
“We’re seeing more travellers move away from tick-box tourism in favour of experiences that feel more meaningful and immersive,” Orrego said.
“Central Asia is a perfect example. It offers breathtaking landscapes, a rich history, warm local hospitality and a sense of discovery that’s becoming increasingly hard to find.”
New itinerary showcases nomadic culture
Priced from $9,680 per person, the tour includes stays in a traditional yurt camp, visits to Issyk-Kul Lake and the red rock formations of Jeti-Ögüz, time in the mountain town of Karakol, and cultural experiences including learning to make the traditional fried bread, borsook.
