Whistler Blackcomb has opened Blackcomb Mountain for the 2025/26 winter season, marking the start of a milestone year that includes Whistler Mountain’s 60th anniversary. T
he celebrations began with a traditional welcome ceremony led by ambassadors from the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, held at the Base of Blackcomb Gondola in the Upper Village. Whistler Mountain will follow next week as it launches its Diamond Anniversary season.
Whistler Blackcomb Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Belinda Trembath, said the resort is energised for the season ahead and ready to welcome Australians returning to the slopes.

To commemorate the occasion, Whistler Blackcomb has introduced Wonder Routes — seven curated, self-guided mountain tours showcasing scenic viewpoints, cultural touchpoints and signature terrain. Each route is colour-coded and features turn-by-turn guidance, helping skiers and riders discover glades, groomers, Olympic legacy sites and family-friendly areas across both mountains.
Designed to help guests experience the breadth of Whistler Blackcomb at their own pace, Wonder Routes highlight hidden gems as well as classic terrain, making them ideal for both first-timers and returning visitors.
Epic Australia Pass access for the season ahead
Australian travellers planning a Northern Hemisphere snow holiday have strong value options through the Epic Australia Pass. Current 2025 pass holders can enjoy 10 days of combined lift access at Whistler Blackcomb this season.
Travellers planning ahead can secure the 2026 Epic Australia Pass, which provides access to more than 80 resorts worldwide for the 2026/27 Northern Hemisphere winter and unlimited, unrestricted access to Perisher, Hotham and Falls Creek. The pass is on sale now with a $49 deposit and nothing more to pay until 4 May 2026.
A landmark season begins
Whistler Blackcomb’s 60-year legacy continues to draw international visitors seeking big-mountain terrain, deep snow and a lively village atmosphere. This year’s Diamond Anniversary celebrations and the debut of Wonder Routes provide even more reasons for Australians to return to one of British Columbia’s most iconic winter destinations.
