WTM Africa opens Responsible Tourism Awards entries

Entries are now open for the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards 2027, with submissions invited across six categories ahead of the ceremony at WTM Africa in Cape Town next April.

Six categories cover key sustainability themes

The awards accept entries across Local Economic Benefit, Disability, All Inclusive, Overtourism, Nature Positive and Climate Change, giving African tourism operators, suppliers and destinations a platform to demonstrate responsible tourism initiatives across a broad range of focus areas.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 7 April 2027 at the Inspire stage at WTM Africa, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Gold winners will progress directly to the global Responsible Tourism Awards in London later in the year, giving category winners international exposure beyond the African market.

Entry ahead of April 2027 trade show

WTM Africa runs from 7 to 9 April 2027, with the awards forming part of the event’s broader program. For Australian operators and agents selling African product, the awards provide a way to track which suppliers and destinations are being recognised for sustainable and inclusive tourism practices, information that can support product positioning for clients increasingly asking about responsible travel credentials.
