Christmas has come early for passengers on a Virgin Australia flight from Melbourne to Brisbane yesterday, and it was more than just being allowed to cross the Queensland border.
As passengers went to collect their belongings at the baggage carousel at Brisbane Airport, they found it transformed into a train of Christmas gifts, thanks to Havaianas.
Partnering with Havaianas, Virgin Australia had over 200 pairs of the brand’s latest-edition bright red thongs arrived on the baggage carousel for their collection. The thongs, a perfect gift to start the first day of summer and helped to welcome Victorians back to the Sunshine State after months of lockdowns and border restrictions.
A Virgin Australia Group spokesperson said “We’re really excited to see so many Victorians travelling to our great state today and you couldn’t get a more Australian gift than a pair of Havaianas thongs as a welcome back present.”
“We know it’s been a particularly tough few months for Victorians and in true Virgin Australia style we wanted to bring extra joy to their journey with us today.”
To give customers added confidence when booking, Virgin Australia is waiving applicable change fees and allowing unlimited booking changes for reservations with travel between now and 31 January 2021. The airline will further extend booking flexibility until 31 March 2021 should a customer’s travel plans be impacted by COVID-19. More information here.
