Azamara Cruises Returns to Alaska

After a seven-year break, Azamara Cruises is set to make a spectacular return to the unspoiled wilderness of Alaska in the summer of 2026.

Known for its Destination Immersion® experiences, the small-ship cruise line will once again offer intimate voyages that bring travellers closer to Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.

Starting in May 2026, Azamara Pursuit® will embark on a series of 10- to 13-day cruises, offering extended port stays of over 10 hours and access to remote locations. The carefully crafted itineraries will highlight unique experiences, from glacier hiking and whale watching to cultural encounters with indigenous Alaskan communities.

A Return to Alaska’s Untamed Beauty

“We are excited to reintroduce Alaska as one of our key destinations for the summer of 2026,” said Michael Pawlus, Head of Itinerary Planning at Azamara Cruises. “Our guests have long requested a return to this extraordinary region, and we are pleased to meet that demand by offering enhanced itineraries and land experiences that truly capture the essence of Alaska.”

Azamara’s small ships allow them to reach ports and locations inaccessible to larger vessels, giving travellers a unique opportunity to explore Alaska in depth. Guests will enjoy extended stays in ports like Juneau, Wrangell, and Skagway, as well as late-night departures from 27 locations, ensuring plenty of time to explore each destination.

Highlights of the Alaska 2026 Voyages

Some of the notable highlights of Azamara Cruises’ Alaska return include:

  • Remote Destinations: Explore Kodiak, famed for its wildlife, and Dutch Harbor, the gateway to the Aleutian Islands, along with Icy Strait Point, renowned for whale watching.
  • Cultural Experiences: Enjoy Azamara’s iconic AzAmazing Evenings, including an unforgettable night in Ketchikan: An Alaskan Adventure: Timber, Traditions & Toasts. Guests will experience traditional Tlingit performances, axe throwing, and a private show at the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show.
  • Extended Time in Port: With late departures, guests can fully immerse themselves in each port, from Victoria, BC, to the Alaskan wilderness.

A Deeper Connection with Alaska

Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises, echoed the company’s commitment to authentic travel experiences: “Our commitment to Destination Immersion means that we don’t just take our guests to Alaska; we immerse them in its rich culture and take them to the heart of the destination that large ships can’t even access.”

Azamara’s small-ship advantage, combined with curated land experiences, ensures that each Alaska cruise offers a deeper, more meaningful connection to the region, providing lifelong memories for guests.
