Three interconnected rooms – the Cape Arid Rooms – have opened in the south-eastern wing of COMO The Treasury as the home for the newly launched COMO The Treasury afternoon tea.
The philosophy of Cape Arid Rooms focuses on inviting its guests to embark on a culinary escapade to WA’s southern Cape Arid National Park. This virtual journey is crafted through the lens of renowned Western Australian artists Philippa and Alex Nikulinsky, whose works adorn the walls of the tranquil space.
The finest local producers shine via their dedication to the art of this afternoon indulgence. Bannister Downs Dairy in Northcliffe, Honey for Life in Karragullen, and the Chestnut Brae Farm in Carlotta are just some of the local producers who supply for the dishes such as the lime and mint delice, rye tartlet and the super ‘Jarrah’ honey cheesecake tartlet. The tea program has been curated in collaboration with Teassential, with the Cape Arid Rooms team trained by Teassential tea master David Liem.
State Buildings Director of Wine Emma Farrelly has carefully chosen a selection of champagnes and wines to compliment the afternoon tea menu by COMO The Treasury Executive Chef, Kim Brennan.
“Cape Arid Rooms will change its afternoon tea menu every three months,” said COMO The Treasury Hotel Manager Jesse Tibert.
“We have focused on elevating every individual element of the afternoon tea service. From the carefully crafted tiers of the afternoon tea stands which feature three rich local woods, to a focus on continuing the experience beyond the tea rooms with complimentary handcrafted seasonal pastilles given to each guest upon departure,” he added.
