Discovery Parks reaches 100-park milestone with four new acquisitions

G’day Group has expanded its Discovery Parks network to more than 100 locations following the acquisition of four holiday parks, marking a major milestone for the regional accommodation operator and underpinning plans for further national growth.

The acquisition of four former Breeze Holiday Parks takes the Discovery Parks and Resorts portfolio to 101 properties, supported by an investment of more than $40 million covering the purchase and planned upgrades.

Four parks join Discovery Parks network

The newly acquired parks, located in regional Victoria, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, will be rebranded as Discovery Parks – Halls Gap, Discovery Parks – Grampians, Discovery Parks – Katherine River and Discovery Parks – West Busselton.

G’day Group said the acquisition strengthens its position as Australia’s largest owned and operated regional accommodation provider and is expected to generate more than $50 million in annual economic benefit while supporting more than 420 full-time jobs.

Founder and CEO Grant Wilckens said the milestone reflected the company’s long-term investment in regional Australia.

“We are now setting our sights to double in size by 2031 with ambitions for G’day Group to become a $4.5 billion market leader,” he said.

Expansion plans continue

The company plans to invest up to $250 million annually in regional Australia through further acquisitions and upgrades to flagship properties, including Discovery Parks locations in Byron Bay, Bargara, Woodman Point, Canberra and Cradle Mountain.

G’day Group, which is majority owned by Australian Retirement Trust, said it currently supports more than 16,600 jobs nationwide and contributes around $2 billion annually to regional economies.

Australian Retirement Trust General Manager Mid-Risk Assets Michael Weaver said the milestone highlighted G’day Group’s commitment to growing regional tourism while delivering long-term value for members.

The newly acquired parks will transition to the Discovery Parks brand during August 2026, with existing bookings unaffected.
