G Adventures is doubling down on polar exploration with the relaunch of its Arctic programme, marking a major expansion of its small-ship expedition offering. This follows the recent announcement of a newly refurbished vessel set to begin operating in Antarctica from October 2025, with Arctic voyages commencing in June 2026.
This milestone marks the adventure travel brand’s return to the Arctic after a six-year hiatus, with a refreshed approach that prioritises affordability, education and immersive exploration. Four new Arctic itineraries have been launched, including the eight-day “Realm of the Polar Bear” and the 15-day “Arctic Highlights Southbound,” each designed to offer wildlife-rich experiences and access to some of the region’s most dramatic natural settings.
Guests can expect up-close encounters with polar bears, whales, arctic foxes and walruses, as well as expert-led lectures from marine biologists, ornithologists, geologists and historians. The trips will also include zodiac excursions, polar plunges and cultural insights into remote communities such as Ittoqqortoormiit in Greenland.
New ship and broader itineraries across the poles
G Adventures’ new expedition ship will host up to 128 passengers and has been renovated for fuel efficiency and sustainability. This vessel will begin with five Antarctica itineraries from October 2025 before transitioning north to the Arctic by mid-2026. Onboard, guests will enjoy a casual and community-focused atmosphere, with comfortable cabins, a restaurant, bar, sun deck and jacuzzi.
In addition to the Arctic relaunch, G Adventures plans to introduce five new itineraries spanning Scotland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Labrador. These journeys will trace the footsteps of Viking explorers while continuing the brand’s focus on authentic, off-the-beaten-path adventures.
With its new polar schedule, G Adventures is offering travellers a chance to see the world’s most remote frontiers in a way that’s both accessible and deeply enriching.
