Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced yesterday that parts of Queensland would enter a ‘circuit-breaker’ lockdown in an attempt to curb community transmission of the Delta strain in the state. The lockdown will be reviewed on Friday 2 July.
From 6:00pm AEST yesterday, a 3-day lockdown has been ordered for the following LGAs:
- Noosa
- Sunshine Coast
- Ipswich
- Logan
- Redlands
- Moreton Bay
- Brisbane
- Gold Coast
- Scenic Rim
- Lockyer Valley
- Somerset
- Townsville City
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire
Queensland is the latest state to implement lockdown measures following Greater Sydney, Darwin and Palmerston in the Northern Territory and the Perth-Peel region in Western Australia.
