Tourism Solomons flags uncertainty over new e-Visa system

Tourism Solomons has acknowledged the Solomon Islands Government’s rollout of a new e-Visa system, while noting several practical details remain unclarified by the Immigration Department.

Details still being finalised with Immigration

Tourism Solomons said the transition to a digital visa system is intended to deliver long-term benefits for travellers, industry partners and border management, but recognised the system remains in its early stages. The national tourism office said this has created uncertainty for travellers, airlines and tourism partners, and confirmed it is seeking clarification on several components of the new process.

Tourism Solomons said it would communicate confirmed details across its channels and directly to industry stakeholders as soon as they become available, with a priority on ensuring visitors feel supported and the tourism sector can operate with confidence while the system is refined.

The new e-Visa application can be viewed at immigration.gov.sb/visiting.
