New Zealand travel agency cooperative World Travellers has appointed Jodie Burnard as its new General Manager, with the experienced travel executive set to commence the role on 10 August.
Burnard brings more than 20 years’ experience across the travel industry, with expertise spanning product, partnerships, marketing, public relations and communications.
Experienced industry leader joins cooperative
Burnard has previously held roles with Flight Centre Travel Group, Envoyage, Stella, Kumuka and Insight Vacations, and has worked closely with independent travel agents throughout her career.
World Travellers Chair Wendy van Lieshout said Burnard’s industry knowledge, collaborative approach and understanding of the independent travel sector made her a strong fit for the cooperative.
Strategic growth a key priority
Burnard joins as World Travellers begins implementing a new two-year strategic growth plan.
She said she was looking forward to working with the cooperative’s members and delivering on the initiatives outlined in the strategy. Burnard succeeds outgoing General Manager Dave Nicholson and will officially begin the role on 10 August.
