Accor has had a landmark year in the Pacific, marked by impressive growth, sustainability milestones, and hosting events that have shaped the region’s tourism landscape.
By delivering thoughtfully designed spaces, embracing sustainability, and fostering community connections, Accor continues to redefine travel experiences.
Expanding Accor’s footprint in the Pacific
This year saw several key openings for Accor in Australia, including the dual-branded Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport, launched in July 2024. Inspired by Victoria’s natural beauty, Novotel Melbourne Airport offers 248 serene rooms, while ibis Styles Melbourne Airport’s 216 rooms feature a vibrant, playful design.
In regional Victoria, Peppers Gladstone debuted as the first new hotel development in the area in over a decade, setting new standards in regional hospitality.
Further afield, the Ennismore portfolio—partially owned by Accor—announced plans to bring The Hoxton brand to Melbourne’s Cremorne neighbourhood, slated for a 2027 opening. This lifestyle hotel will celebrate local culture through creative design and programming.
Meanwhile, the Handwritten Collection expanded with the addition of Hotel Woolstore 1888 in Sydney, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on unique charm and personalised hospitality.
Upcoming openings
Accor’s 2025 pipeline includes Novotel Sydney Cabramatta, featuring 140 rooms, multiple dining venues, and amenities like a gym, outdoor pool, and business lounge. Across the Tasman, TRIBE Auckland Fort Street will debut in New Zealand, offering 60 stylish rooms and a social hub ideal for modern travellers.
Ennismore will introduce flagship brands in Australia, including 25hours Hotel The Olympia in Sydney, Mondrian Gold Coast Hotel & Residences at Burleigh Heads, and Hyde Perth, blending lifestyle, luxury, and vibrant hospitality.
Hosting iconic events
Accor Stadium played a pivotal role in Australia’s major events in 2024, from hosting the NRL and NRLW Grand Finals to sold-out concerts by Taylor Swift and Coldplay, attracting over 660,000 fans. The venue continues to boost tourism and local economies, with events like Luke Combs, Metallica, and the State of Origin on the 2025 calendar.
Sustainability milestones
Accor has achieved a significant sustainability milestone, with 150 properties in Australia certified by Ecotourism Australia. These hotels meet over 200 global standards, showcasing innovative sustainability practices and independent audits. Accor remains committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, aligned with the Paris Agreement.
