Expedia Group launches biggest-ever Stayz and Escapia update

Expedia Group has announced its largest-ever product release for holiday rental brand Stayz and property management software Escapia, rolling out new advertising, revenue and operations tools for partners through 2027.

Stayz update adds advertising and flexible pricing tools

Vrbo Sponsored Listings, now live globally following a successful pilot, gives partners pay-per-booked-night advertising with no upfront cost, securing premium placement in Stayz search results. Same-Day Bookings, also live now, lets eligible partners accept bookings within 24 hours of stay, up to midday on the day of arrival.

New flexible cancellation policies, live now, let partners offer guests a full refund up to five or one day before check-in. Coming soon are Limited Time Offers for peak shopping periods such as Black Friday, Non-Refundable Rates allowing partners to surface lower-priced non-refundable options alongside standard refundable rates, and the ability for Stayz properties to be booked as part of an Expedia package alongside flights and car hire.

Escapia gains modernised reservation grid

Escapia’s most-used tool, its reservation grid, has been upgraded to a modern visual interface, live now, including new multi-quote support allowing partners to compare and send multiple property options in a single email. Distribution optimisation improvements, including folio management and commission enhancements, are also live, with further automation tools to follow. Vrbo Payments, currently in pilot, combines payment processing with fraud and chargeback support aimed at reducing cancellations and operational burden.

Tim Rosolio, Expedia Group’s vice president of vacation rental partnerships, said the investment reflects a significant growth push. “We are entering into one of the most exciting eras in our holiday rental history at Expedia Group,” Rosolio said. Joel Schoen, Escapia’s general manager, said the updates are the beginning of a broader push to modernise the platform for professional property managers.

For property managers and holiday rental operators using Stayz and Escapia, the update gives access to new no-upfront-cost advertising options, more flexible pricing tools and streamlined reservation management, relevant for those looking to optimise distribution and revenue ahead of peak booking periods.
