Hawaiian Airlines has announced key enhancements to its Rarotonga service, aimed at improving passenger convenience and expanding connectivity between the Cook Islands and the United States.
Daytime Departure for HA496 Improves Travel Experience
Effective Sunday, June 15, 2025, Hawaiian Airlines flight HA496, operating Sundays from Rarotonga to Honolulu, will shift its departure time from 11:35 pm to 1:05 pm, subject to government approval. The move to a daytime departure will offer travellers a smoother and more comfortable transition, enhancing their overall journey experience.
Expanded US Connectivity with Alaska Airlines Partnership
In a significant development for travellers, Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines have established seamless fare connectivity between the Cook Islands and the United States. As of Friday, February 28, passengers can now book through fares from Rarotonga to 85 destinations across the US mainland, providing more travel opportunities and greater accessibility.
Christian Mani, General Manager North America for Cook Islands Tourism, highlighted the benefits of these changes.
