With the 2025 sailing season upon us, multi-award winning True North unveil’s major $3 million dollar makeover of their small boat fleet, True North and True North II. This extensive refit ensures that both ships are primed for 2025’s action-packed itineraries around Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, promising guests once in a lifetime experiences in ultimate comfort.
At the heart of the refurbishment is the completely redesigned bar lounge aboard True North, adding a touch of modern sophistication for guests on board experience. With sleek interiors and an inviting atmosphere, the upgraded lounge ensures every moment at sea is as memorable as the destinations themselves, allowing guests to truly unwind in style.

Both True North and True North II now feature new and improved seating areas on the bow, providing the ultimate vantage point for whale watching, unobstructed sunsets, and Kimberley’s dramatic landscapes.
Meanwhile, True North II debuts a new body, undergoing a full paint job, to better blend contemporary aesthetics with the vessel’s adventurous spirit—an unmistakable statement of its readiness to explore some of the world’s most remote destinations.
“This is the most comprehensive refit we’ve ever undertaken, giving both ships a well earned touch up,” says Chad Avenell, Director of True North. “Our guests expect nothing but the best, and these upgrades reaffirm our commitment to delivering once in a lifetime adventures.”

True North has also expanded its premium beverage selection, now offering an exclusive range of wines from new partner Plantagenet Wines, alongside beer served at all meal services — ensuring that guests can savour the finest Australian flavors while immersed in their journey. On top of the major refits, True North have opened up on a select number of cabins for solo travellers, now waiving the single supplement, making it easier than ever to embark on a solo adventure.
True North’s latest enhancements were undertaken in partnership with leading Interior Designer Henri Living, reaffirming the company’s commitment to luxurious craftsmanship and marine innovation.
